A brand new tractor and slasher has been donated to College of Education, Agbor, in response to the fervent appeal earlier made by the Provost of the Institution, Dr. Joseph Onyesi Ukadike, to individuals, private organisations and others to come to the aid of the institution in terms of infrastructural development of the institution.
The Provost who disclosed that the tractor and slasher was donated by an Ika indigene who pleaded to remain anonymous said that the special committee on the physical development of the College which he inaugurated to go all out to attract donors have started yielding dividends as more donors are already indicating interest to come and write their names in gold and marble at the college.
Addressing the press, the Provost called on more people, organizations to join in answering this call of developing the College of Education, Agbor while stressing that government alone cannot do it.
Acknowledging the receipt of the tractor/slasher, he averred that although the donor told them not to mention his name that he must not fail to express his profound gratitude to him while praying God to continue to shower his blessing upon him.
He further disclosed that the tractor/slasher is what the Institution needed at this auspicious time when weeds are continuously growing unabated.
He also use the medium to call on others whom the Institution has written letters to respond while as well urging those individuals and organization that the Institution might not have remembered to write to, to come to the aid of the school while pointing out that nothing is too small or too big.
He said that the Institution needs help in the areas of more lecture halls, school buses, offices and other infrastructures.
The highpoint of the occasion was the official driving of the tractor by the Provost who dedicated it to the Almighty God who made it possible.
Some principal staff of the College who were on hand to witness the ceremony include, a onetime Provost of the Institution, Dr. Emmanuel Tibi, the acting registrar of the Institution and others.
